Grenoble can be easily reached by car, by plane, or by train (you can also browse the related Grenoble City web page or look at this file):
By car. From Lyon, take highway A 43 and then A 48 towards Grenoble. It takes 50 minutes, and the toll is between 7 and 8 euros. When arriving in Grenoble, follow the signs "Grenoble Bastille" which will lead you downtown where the hotels are located.
By plane. The international airport is Lyon-Saint-Exupéry, served by all major airlines. From there, you can take a taxi to Grenoble (50 minutes, 80 euros) or a shuttle bus ( page recently updated) wich departs every hour (65 minutes, 20 euros). The bus leaves you at the train station.
By train. The train station is located downtown and can be reached in three hours from Paris by TGV. See the SNCF web site.
From downtown Grenoble to the Campus where the conference is located, you can take the bus/tram or go by car:
By car. Take Boulevard Gambetta, then Avenue Albert Premier de Belgique, then Boulevard Clémenceau (along the Parc Paul Mistral and the Palais des Sports), then Boulevard Gabriel Péry. Take entry 1 to the Campus. For this you have to make a left turn, but because of the complex crossing roads, you must first take the right lane before making the left turn at the stop light.
By bus/tram. The Semitag operates the tram line B that goes from downtown Grenoble to the Campus (see here for the price of tickets). Leave the tramway at the last stop, called Universités. They also operate the bus line 26 that goes from the southern part of Grenoble (where Hotel Ugerel is located) to the campus. Leave the bus at the Universités bus stop.
